(Estherville)– The Iowa Lakes Community College Board of Trustees this week voted to authorize staff to apply for a couple of grants through the Palo Alto County Gaming Development Corporation for a couple of projects. The funds would go toward improvements to the audio-visual systems for the auditorium at the Emmetsburg campus and for the meeting room at the Iowa Lakes College Farm.
The cost of the two projects was estimated at $30,000. College officials say 75 percent of that would be covered by the grants.
The other grant application would be for improvements to the Community Room located between the Emmetsburg Public Library and the Smith Wellness Center. The estimated cost of that project is just under $4,500.
