Milford Municipal Utilities Advises Customers Of Violation Of A Drinking Water Standard Due To Equipment Malfunction

October 02, 2019

(Milford)– Milford Municipal Utilities has alerted its water customers of a violation of a drinking water standard established by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

In a letter to its customers, the utility says there was a malfunction of some equipment on March 31st of this year that resulted in a lack of water quality monitoring for about 30 minutes.

The letter goes on to say that MMU took immediate action to fix the problem once it was discovered and got equipment back into compliance. They say a new monitoring system has been purchased that will offer improved data protection, back-up and redundacy features.

MMU says the new system should be fully operational in early 2020.
