(Spirit Lake)-The Spirit of Harmony Chorus will present their fall program this weekend, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has the story:
The award-winning Spirit of Harmony Chorus will hold their annual fall concert on Sunday afternoon.
Director Judy Weipert says this year’s theme is ‘Snow Bad News’. “One of the songs that we’re doing is called No Bad News from The Wiz, and so, somebody was saying what should we come up with for a title, and somebody said what about Snow Bad News because our theme is, we’ve had a freak winter storm here at the Lakes. Early, like September 29th is pretty early for a freak winter storm but, we all got stranded at my house so we’re going to have a rehearsal at my house. So, that’s the gist of it.”
She adds that the show will feature The Benson Family Singers. “The last time they were here was in 2013, and the audiences just loved them. They’re a family of Mom and Dad, and they have five children. They play all kinds of instruments, they sing beautifully, they have comedy. They’re just a lot of fun.”
The concert will start at 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Sami Center in Spirit Lake.
Tickets are $12.00 in advance, $15.00 at the door and available at Lewis Family Drug in Spirit Lake and from Chorus Members.
