(Okoboji)-The Scottie Miller Band returns to the Iowa Great Lakes on Thursday night, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The sensational Scottie Miller will return to the Pearson Lakes Art Center with his full band on Thursday evening.
Miller says his latest release is called, Stay Above Water. “It’s our most current release out of my, what, 10 records I think, now. Stay Above Water, is the stand out for me, even though it’s not a piano tune and I’m known mostly as a piano player, obviously. It still was more of the stand out tune as far as upbeat and trying to spread some love and hope in the world, which is a common theme in my tunes. So, it’s really just trying to get through adversity and get on the other side of challenging times and keep your head above water, stay above water, don’t let life pull you down. I wrote that one on the mandolin.”
He adds that he looks forward to returning to the Iowa Great Lakes. “We’ve been down there before with various formations, but this is going to be a really fun, full band show, and I know everybody in the band is excited to drive down and come do this show. It’s a beautiful stage, they’re great people.”
The Scottie Miller Band will take the stage at 7:30 Thursday evening.
