Authorities Release Statistics From Special Multi-County Traffic Enforcement Project

(Sibley)– Authorities have released statistics from a special multi-county traffic enforcement project conducted this past Friday in Lyon, Osceola and Sioux counties.

Authorities say of the 100 citations that were issued, 44 were for speeding; 15 were for seatbelt violations; four were issued for texting while driving and one arrest was made for operating while intoxicated.

Officials say 138 warnings were issued with 18 commercial motor vehicle inspections; four motorist assists and that two warrants were served.

A total of 23 officers participated in the project conducted by the Iowa State Patrol, the patrol’s airwing, Iowa Motor Vehicle Enforcement and the Lyon, Osceola and Sioux County Sheriff’s Offices.
