(Milford)– The Iowa Great Lakes Amateur Radio Club will hold their annual Ham Fest event this coming Saturday, September 28th, from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm at the Milford American Legion. Club President Eric Hinshaw says the cost is five dollars at the door and that the event is open to not only those already involved in the hobby, but those who are thinking about getting involved as well…
“We will have testing there I think, but if not we’ll let them know as soon as I find out. But, yeah, anybody can join.”
And Hinshaw says the Ham Fest event is a great way for those getting into the hobby to pick up some equipment at a reasonable cost…
“For starting out as a ham, yes, you can pick up radios reasonable, whatever they got them priced at. And lots of time they’ll dicker if the price is too high and they want it a little cheaper, they can get it a little cheaper.”
