Emmet County Traffic Stops Result In Several Arrests

(Estherville)– A North Las Vegas, Nevada man was arrested on a drug charge in Emmet county following a traffic stop back on August 22nd on Highway 9 seven miles east of Estherville.

The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says 21-year-old Micah Harris-Bright was charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana and operating while intoxicated.

Authorities say another traffic stop on September 5th in Emmet county resulted in the arrest of an Ashton man. A deputy pulled over a vehicle being driven erratically on Highway 9 about two miles east of Gruver. The driver, 31-year-old Tyler Techen, was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated…1st offense, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

And a traffic stop September 11th in Emmet county resulted in the arrest of a Wallingford man. The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle for speeding on Highway 4 south of Estherville shortly before 5:30 pm. Upon investigating authorities found controlled substances, paraphernalia and alcohol in the vehicle. The driver, 18-year-old Israel Tapia of Wallingford, was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated…1st offense, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, failure to affix a drug tax stamp, unlawful possession of a prescription drug and possession of alcohol under the legal age.
