(Spencer)– Ten area students will compete in the 2007 Flagfest Youth Ambassador competition this coming Sunday, January 14th. The event begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Spencer High School Little Theatre. Admission is free.
Contestants are Alison Buechler, daughter of Jeff and Lan Buechler of Graettinger; Brett Caviness, son of Tom and Shirley Caviness of Milford; Quinn Jones, daughter of Patrick and Nancy Jones of Spencer; Jill Kassel, daughter of Paul and Julie Kassel of Spencer; Rebecca Kimball, daughter of Dave and Deb Kimball of Spencer; Jennifer Malm, daughter of Tracy Malm of Spencer; Sarah McCarty, daughter of Eugene McCarty of Harley; Nicole Paulson, daughter of Jackie Paulson of Spencer and Jim Paulson of Spencer; Caleb Stover, son of Tim and Kimberly Stover of Spencer; and Kayla Upton, daughter of Larry and Kelly Upton of Ruthven.
The Youth Ambassador will receive a 1,500-dollar scholarship, compliments of the Spencer Rotary Club, along with an engraved writing set from Nelson Jewelry. The first alternate receives a one thousand dollar scholarship compliments of Community State Bank in Spencer; and the second place alternate receives a five-hundred dollar scholarship, compliments of Kiwanis After Five.
