(Spencer)– A Spencer woman is accused of giving false information to a law enforcement officer.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Jesalene Newgard. A subsequent check resulted in the deputy discovering Newgard had been driving while barred. When confronted, she allegedly told the officer something different.
Newgard was charged with driving while barred and interference with official acts.
The traffic stop took place shortly after 10:00 a.m. Sunday.
Newgard was booked into jail pending an appearance before a magistrate.
