(Emmetsburg)– Officials hope Iowa’s newest casino–the Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Emmetsburg–will bring an economic boom to northern Iowa.
The 35 (M) Million dollar casino opened to the public Monday about a year after state regulators awarded Palo Alto county a license to build it.
The casino, which is outfitted in the irish tradition, has 340 employees. It features 550 slot machines, 16 game tables, a pub, a full-buffet, a hotel and R-V park and a convention center.
Representative Marcie Frevert, an Emmetsburg democrat, says the casino has stimulated the local economy and provided excitement in that area that is long overdue.
The Wild Rose’s grand openings are June 30th and July 1st.
