(Milford)– Water quality in the lower chain of the Iowa Great Lakes has long been a source of concern. A meeting next week will highlight just how serious the issue is and what should be done to correct it.
Mike Hawkins, a Biologist with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources tells KUOO news researchers from Iowa State University spent the last three years looking into the matter and will present their findings at a meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 14th at the Milford Community Center.
Hawkins says the results will provide guidance to resource professionals, lake residents and the local community for improving lake water quality.
The public will have an opportunity to comment and ask questions.
