(Spirit Lake)– A six-month undercover investigation by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office and the Milford Police Department has resulted in the arrest of a Spirit Lake man on outstanding warrants.
Authorities say 24-year-old Nicholas Lee Griffin was arrested on three counts of delivery of cocaine…a class “C” felony; using a person under the age of 18 in the drug trafficking trade…also a class “C” felony; ongoing criminal conduct…a class “B” felony; three counts of a drug tax stamp violation…a class “D” felony; gatherings where controlled substances are sold…also a class “D” felony; and prohibited acts…an aggravated misdemeanor.
Griffin was transported to the Dickinson county jail where he’s being held on 82-thousand dollars bond.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office and the Milford Police Department were assisted in their investigation by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Estherville Police Department and the Spirit Lake Police Department. All are members of the federally-funded Iowa Great Lakes Drug Task Force.
Authorities say their investigation continues and more arrests are likely.
