(Spirit Lake)– Motorists on Highway 71 between Spirit Lake and Okoboji can expect road construction beginning next week…if the weather ever gets straightened out.
Public Works Director Todd Dolphin says a contractor is to start work on building and paving turning lanes off Highway 71 onto 38th and 41st Streets beginning Monday…if conditions allow.
Dolphin says there will be periodic lane closures in that area, and the only access to the Bedell Family YMCA will be via Sunner Avenue.
No word as to how long the project might take.
A project to install streetlights along both sides of Highway 71 in that same area will continue as well once the weather allows.
