Traffic Stop Results In Drug Charges Against 17-Year-Old

(Estherville)– Drug charges have been filed against an Estherville teen following a traffic stop on February 9th. The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle around 1:30 that afternoon on Highway 9 about two miles east of Estherville for a traffic violation. What’s alleged to be controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and alcohol were discovered in the vehicle. The 17-year-old driver was taken into custody and referred to juvenile court on charges of possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…1st offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol. The juvenile was released to a parent.
