Traffic Stop Results In Charges Against Calumet Man

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A traffic stop by a Clay county sheriff’s deputy landed a Calumet man in jail on traffic and drug charges.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle driven by 46-year-old Michael Shriver of Calumet. Sobriety tests indicated Shriver had been drinking, and he was placed under arrest.

A subsequent search by the Clay County Sheriff’s K9 Unit turned up what’s alleged to be a small amount of marijuana and drug parphernalia in the pickup Shriver had been driving.

Shriver was booked into the Clay county jail on charges of operating while intoxicated…third offense; possession of a controlled substance…marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia and no proof of insurance.
