Traffic Stop Leads To Discovery Of Meth Lab

November 23, 2014

(Estherville)– A traffic stop in Estherville has resulted in the discovery of what authorities say was a methamphetamine lab.

Police say they stopped a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Bruce Duane Duncan of Estherville Monday for driving while barred and no insurance.

Authorities say they found some methamphetamine and precursors as the vehicle was being searched and impounded. As a result, officers obtained a search warrant for an Estherville residence where additional precursors along with waste and remnants of a meth lab were found. The Division of Narcotics Enforcement was called to render the materials safe and remove them.

In addition to the traffic charges, Duncan was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; possession of methamphetamine precursor within a thousand feet of a school; operating a motor vehicle while under the influence and manufacturing a controlled substance.

Duncan was also wanted for a parole violation.

He’s being held in the Emmet county jail on bond of nearly 100-thousand dollars.
