(Dickens)– The fall harvest is just getting underway and already it’s claimed a life.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a rural Dickens man was killed Saturday evening when a tractor that was pulling a load of soybeans overturned.
The victim was identified 62-year-old DOnald Bryan. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say Bryan lost control of the tractor and wagon as he was coming down the side of a hill, causing them to roll.
The mishap was reported to authorities shortly before 11:00 p.m. Saturday.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Iowa State Patrol, Dickens Fire and Rescue and the Spencer Ambulance.
