(Arnolds Park)– Tourism officials in the Iowa Great Lakes say soaring gas prices will likely bring a different clientele to the area this summer.
Instead of people travelling greater distances to get here, they say most will likely come from an area two hours or less from here.
Stacy Rosemore of Okoboji Tourism says they’ve revised their marketing efforts as a result.
She says overall, the number of visitors could actually go up as a result.
This coming Memorial Day weekend marks the traditional start of the tourism season in the Iowa Great Lakes.
