Tom Bedell Retires As Interim President Of Pure Fishing

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Tom Bedell has announced his retirement from the fishing tackle industry.

Bedell has been serving as interim President of Pure Fishing since April, 2007 when he sold his final shares of the company to Jarden Company. Pure Fishing has since been integrated into Jarden’s Shakespeare and Penn companies.

Bedell’s retirement was effective February 1st, but he says he’ll continue to serve as a senior advisor as needed.

Bedell, who has headed Pure Fishing since his father Berkley handed him the reins at the age of 29, thanks the co-workers he’s worked with over the years, along with all of those in the fishing tackle industry.

Bedell says he plans to spend his spare time in retirement by remaining active in philanthropy and humanitarian projects.

Terry Carlson has been named the company’s new CEO.
