(Lake Park)– An autopsy is being performed to determine the exact cause of death of a Texas man found dead in a single-vehicle crash over the weekend on Highway Nine near Lake Park.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 57-year-old Bdreau Bowden of Temple, Texas apparently suffered a medical condition as he was driving a 2006 Dodge Ram. Deputies say the vehicle left the road and went into the north ditch, where it caught fire. The fire was quickly extinguished by the Lake Park Fire Department.
Bowden was pronounced dead at the scene.
The mishap took place shortly before 8:00 a.m. Sunday about half mile west of the intersection with 130th Avenue.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Lake Park Fire Department, Lake Park Fire and Rescue, the Iowa State Patrol and Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance.
