(Elko, Nev.)– The Nevada Highway Patrol says troopers arrested a southwest Minnesota man in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident on Interstate 80 near Battle Mountain.
The patrol says 20-year-old Anthony Kreuter of Windom, Minnesota was arrested on a felony hit-and-run charge and additional charges are pending.
Authorities say Kreuter allegedly was driving an S-U-V that ran into the back of a Ford van with California plates about five miles east of Battle Mountain.
Authorities say the van left the interstate, and one of the passengers was thrown out and later died at the Battle Mountain hospital.
Troopers stopped Kreuter on the interstate about 50 miles away.
