SW Mn. Crash Claims A Life

(Bingham Lake, Mn.)– A head-on crash on Highway 60 near Bingham Lake, Minnesota Friday evening claimed a life.

The name of the 88-year-old victim who’s from St. James hasn’t been released pending notification of relatives.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash involved vehicles driven by 75-year-old John Miller of Rock Valley, Iowa and one being driven by the victim. The vehicle driven by Miller then spun and collided with a semi driven by 51-year-old Gary Hanson of Currie, Minnesota.

Miller and a passenger in his vehicle, 75-year-old Mary Miller of Rock Valley, were taken to the Windom hospital with serious injuries. They were transferred by air to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls. There was no immediate word on their conditions.

No injuries were reported to Hanson.

A 2003 Honda Accord driven by Miller and a 1991 Ford pickup driven by the victim were both totaled; moderate damage was reported to a Mercede Benz semi driven by Hanson.

The mishap took place shortly after 7:00 p.m. Friday.
