(Spencer)– A Cherokee man has been charged with trespassing after a Clay county deputy who was patrolling on Highway 10 early Saturday noticed an unoccupied vehicle near a residence.
Upon investigating deputies found the registered owner of the vehicle, 52-year-old Terry Wirkus of Cherokee, hiding in an outbuilding. Wirkus was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing, a simple misdemeanor. He was booked into the Clay county jail.
The incident took place shortly after 5:30 a.m.
