(Spirit Lake)– A report of suspicious activity around 7:40 p.m. Friday in the areas of Highways nine and 71 and Lincoln Avenue in Spirit Lake resulted in the arrest of a Spirit Lake man on drug charges.
Following an investigation, Spirit Lake police say they made contact with 20-year-old Andrew Mitchell of Spirit Lake. A subsequent search of Mitchell resulted in authorities finding a green leafy plant material alleged to be marijuana, along with drug paraphernalia.
Mitchell was arrested and booked into the Dickinson county jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…a serious misdemeanor; possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver…a class “D” felony; and a drug tax stamp violation…also a class “D” felony.
