(Spirit Lake)– The suspect in the shooting last week of Shelby Woizeschke now faces an upgraded charge of 1st degree murder. 25-year-old Christian Goyne-Yarns had originally been charged with attempted murder. His bond is set at one million dollars cash only. The charge was amended this (Monday) morning after Shelby passed away of her injuries over the weekend at a Sioux Falls hospital.
Court documents state Woizeschke was shot at least two times Thursday morning in the parking lot at Grapetree Medical Staffing in Milford as she arrived for work. The documents also reveal that Goyne-Yarns and Woizeschke had two young children together.
Goyne-Yarns was taken into custody a short time following Thursday’s shooting at his place of employment in Spirit Lake.
An account for Shelby and her two children has been established at Northwest Bank.
