(Worthington, Mn.)– This past weekend’s winter storm resulted in numerous accidents on I-90 in southwest Minnesota.
The first took place around 4:20 p.m. Saturday in the westbound lanes 10 miles east of Worthington.
The Minnesota State Patrol says 24-year-old Abeje Habtie of St. Paul lost control of a 2006 Dodge Caravan that left the road and rolled.
Abeje and two passengers…also from St. Paul…were taken by ambulance to the Worthington hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.
Moderate damage was reported to the vehicle.
A single-vehicle rollover that occurred shortly before Noon Sunday on I-90 in Rock county sent three people to the hospital.
The State Patrol says 24-year-old Aliet Rong of Worthinton lost control of a 2001 Ford Expedition while travelling westbound. The vehicle rolled in the median.
Rong and two passengers–his wife, 24-year-old Monica Rong and child, one-year-old Agong Rong, were taken to the Luverne hospital. Monica Rong, who is pregnant, was transported to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls with a serious injury.
Extensive damage was reported to the vehicle.
Another single-vehicle rollover on I-90 six miles west of Worthington around 5:40 p.m. Sunday sent two people to the hospital.
The State Patrol says 25-year-old Christopher Elling of Hector, Minnesota lost control of a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer that left the road and rolled.
A passenger, 19-year-old Currin Kerling of Bird Island, Minnesota was ejected from the vehicle and was lying on the interstate. She was taken to the Worthington hospital and was transferred to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls with a back injury.
Elling was taken to the Worthington hospital where he was treated for a minor injury.
The vehicle was totalled.
