(Spirit Lake)– A traffic stop Monday in Spirit Lake resulted in drug charges against a Spirit Lake woman.
The Spirit Lake Police Department says an officer pulled over a vehicle driven by 47-year-old Karrie Jean Ferguson of Spirit Lake around 12:30 p.m. Authorities say a subsequent search of the vehicle by the department’s K-9 Unit Zeke resulted in the discovery of a white powdery substance alleged to be methamphetamine, along with some drug paraphernalia.
Ferguson was charged with possession of a controlled substance…methamphetamine…first offense…a serious misdemeanor; prohibited acts…an aggravated misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor.
Ferguson was arrested and booked into the Dickinson county jail.
