A Spirit Lake man is in jail after a Worthington man was shot and killed Sunday on Hill Avenue in Spirit Lake.
55 year old Kenneth George Nielsen Jr. faces charges of reckless use of a firearm, which is a Class C felony.
According to a release from the SLPD, the Dickinson Co. 911 Center recieved a call at approximately 3:30p indicating that 53 year old Marlin Ray Lutterman of Worthington had been shot and needed immediate medical attention.
The victim was transported to the Lakes Regional Healthcare Center where he later died.
The investagation is ongoing, and is currently being handled by the SLPD and The Iowa Division of Criminal Investagation.
Spirit Lake Police were assisted on the scene by the Arnolds Park Police Department, The Iowa State Patrol, The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, and The County Attorney’s office.
