(Spirit Lake)– The Spirit Lake Public Library is the recipient of a very special donation. Director Cindy Davis tells KUOO news it was made in the memory of Senor Cliff Hinderman, a longtime former Spanish teacher at Spirit Lake High School and a faithful patron of the library who passed away last summer…
“His brothers knew that he had wanted money donated to the Spirit Lake Public Library and they came up this week and stopped in, and its Gary and Janet Hinderman and Doug and Mavis Hinderman, and they stopped in and gave us, the each gave us a check for $32,000 for a donation in memorial of Cliff and that was donated to the friends group here at the library. We are just really excited about that, and have, you know, we’ll start thinking about things, plans that we have. We’ve already done a bunch of Spanish language books for the children’s section that are in memory of Cliff, and we have a couple of travel data bases that are in memory of Cliff. We’re kind of thinking Cinco De Mayo this year will be a way to celebrate Senor Cliff.”
Davis says they’re very grateful for the donation.
