October 11, 2021 Steve Schwaller

(Arnolds Park)– The Spirit Lake Noon Kiwanis Club held their second Duck Derby race Saturday, September 25th. One thousand rubber ducks were released into West Lake Okoboji and raced to shore. The first three ducks were awarded $1,000, $250 and $100. The first place winner, Mary Textor, donated her winnings to the Spirit Lake Noon Kiwanis Club; the second place winner, Deb Lenz, donated her winnings to Hope Rolls.

Bank Midwest donated $500 to the Spirit Lake Noon Kiwanis Club for the Duck Derby Race. The funds were raised through the bank’s Friday Jeans Day fundraiser.

Proceeds from the Duck Derby are used to help children and families in need in the community. Club members thank everyone who donated and purchased tickets for this year’s event.

The Spirit Lake Noon Kiwanis Club meets at 12 Noon every Thursday at Wesley Place in Spirit Lake.
