(Lake Park)– The Lake Park Dinner Date program is the recipient of a $500 donation from the Spirit Lake Knights of Columbus.
The check was presented recently to Matt Carstensen, the Mayor of Lake Park and owner of Carstensen’s Meats and Grocery, for his work with the program which distributes meals to Spirit Lake, Estherville, Lake Park, Sibley, Ocheyedan, Sutherland and Peterson. Carstensen works in conjunction with Scott Nepl and coordinates meal deliveries with Elderbridge Agency on Aging.
The Knights of Columbus of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spirit Lake also thanks everyone who support the organization’s events. The proceeds support a wide range of needs in Dickinson county such as Coats for Kids at local schools, local food banks, Special Olympics, the Lakes Area Senior Center Dinner Dates and families in need.
Over the past few years the Knights of Columbus of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spirit Lake has donated more than $30,000 to various organizations as well, including Hope Haven, Iowa Helping Hands Fund, American Wheelchair Mission, the Grotto of the Redemption, Cherish House and various needs in the community.
