Spirit Lake Disturbance Lands North Dakota Woman In Jail

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– A report of a disturbance between a man and a woman Tuesday at the corner of Hill Avenue and Lake Street in Spirit Lake resulted in the arrest of a North Dakota woman.

Spirit Lake police say officers were called to that location shortly before 11:00 a.m. They were able to track down the female a short time later in the 500 block of Lake Street.

The woman, identified as 30-year-old Tomiko Thurman of Bismarck, North Dakota, was arrested for public intoxication.

A subsequent search of Thurman resulted in officers finding a green leafy substance in her purse alleged to be marijuana.

Thurman was charged with public intoxication…a simple misdemeanor; and possession of a controlled substance…a serious misdemeanor.

She was booked into the Dickinson county jail.
