(Spirit Lake)– Four people have been charged in connection with an assault Friday evening in the 700 block of Lake Street in Spirit Lake.
Spirit Lake police say officers and paramedics were called to the scene shortly after 7:00 p.m. after getting a report of a male that had been assaulted and was lying on the street unresponsive.
The victim, who’s name wasn’t released, was transported by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare. There was no word on the extent of injuries or condition of the victim.
Police located three male subjects wanted in connection with the incident following a short pursuit.
They’re identified as Austin Benson of Jackson, who was charged with willful injury…a class “C” felony; assault…a serious misdemeanor; and interference with official acts.
Caleb Benson of Jackson was charged with disorderly conduct and interference with official acts…both simple misdemeanors; Matt Abbott of Spirit Lake was charged with assault…a serious misdemeanor and interference with official acts…a simple misdemeanor; and Miguel Sanculi of Spirit Lake was charged with disorderly conduct…a simple misdemeanor; public intoxication…second offense…a serious misdemeanor; and possession of a prescription drug…a serious misdemeanor.
All four were booked into the Dickinson county jail.
Spirit Lake police were assisted by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office and the Okoboji, Arnolds Park and Lake Park Police Departments.
