Spencer Woman Accused Of Tampering With Records

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A Spencer woman has been charged for allegedly using someone else’s personal information.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says it stems from a report deputies received June 15th from a female who stated that a Lori Miller had been using her personal information during several traffic stops and now her driver’s license had been suspended for not paying the fines.

Authorities say a deputy stopped Miller on March 20th of this year and discovered she didn’t have a valid driver’s license. Deputies say Miller apparently didn’t want to get into trouble and gave them her sister’s information instead.

Authorities say Miller did turn herself in to police on one of the charges. She was later arrested by a Clay county deputy and was booked into jail on a charge of tampering with records…an aggravated misdemeanor. Bond was set at 6,500-dollars.
