(Spencer)– Voters in the Spencer school district Tuesday narrowly approved an Instructional Support Levy.
929 were in favor while 865 were opposed.
The levy consists of an income surtax not to exceed five percent. It will be in effect seven years.
School officials estimate it will generate an additional 450-thousand dollars, or 220-dollars per student.
They say the additional revenue will be used to update curriculum.
