Spencer Police Investigate Theft, Vandalism Reports

(Spencer)– Spencer police are investigating some theft and vandalism reports from the past several days.

The first was reported on Thursday of last week. Authorities say a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Fourth Street Southeast had been broken into. A C-D player, two amplifiers and several speakers were taken. They have a combined value estimated at nearly 1,300-dollars. In addition, authorities say the vehicle sustained an estimated 250-dollars in damage.

Spencer police also investigated an incident in which the tires on a vehicle parked at 1301 12th Avenue Southwest had been slashed. Damage was estimated at about 1,200-dollars. That incident was reported around 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Spencer police also investigated a residential break-in that was reported around 7:00 p.m. Saturday. Authorities say a sterling silver charm bracelet, a 24-carat diamond gold ring and some VHS movies were reported missing from a residence in the one thousand block of Second Avenue Southeast. The items have a combined estimated value of 456-dollars.
