(Spencer)– Preliminary findings have been released by the Iowa Department of Transportation into safety studies conducted at two dangerous intersections in Spencer. City officials requested the studies at the intersections on Highway 71 near McDonalds and Wal-Mart in Spencer, as well as the one on Highway 71 near Menards. Robinson says they’ll continue to analyze the findings and work with the Iowa Department of Transportation on ways to make the intersections safer.
Those locations have been the site of a number of bad accidents, including a fatality earlier this year that occurred at the intersection near Menards.
