Spencer Collision Sends One Person To Hospital

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A two-vehicle collision Saturday in Spencer sent one person to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police say vehicles driven by 21-year-old Gilvonei Rizzatti of Albert City and 19-year-old Kaitlyn Cadwell of Spencer collided at the intersection of Highway 71 and Seventh Avenue Southwest.

Cadwell complained of pain and swelling to her left hand. She was taken by private vehicle to Spencer Hospital to be checked over. No other injuries were reported.

1,800-dollars in damage was estimated to a 1996 Mercury driven by Rizzatti; damage to a 1999 Pontiac driven by Cadwell was estimated at 3,500-dollars.

Rizzatti, a foreign exchange student, was cited for not having a valid Iowa driver’s license and failure to yield from a stop sign.

The collision took place around 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
