(Spencer)– Flagfest is this weekend in Spencer. As we reported previously, the festivities get underway Friday and run through Sunday, with a new event, Spurs and Speed, at the Clay County Fairgrounds.
Blake Goss of the Spencer Chamber of Commerce says the economic impact during Flagfest weekend should not to be taken lightly. He says they have the numbers to point that out…
“We did a study a couple years ago and we were able to track how many people come to town over Flagfest, and it was over 30,000 people that weekend. So for a town of over 10,000 plus to triple your population in a short weekend is just a testament of what Flagfest can provide for the community.”
Another major highlight this weekend will be the annual Flagfest parade Saturday.
