(Washington, D.C.)– Southern Minnesota Congressman Jim Hagedorn passed has passed away following a battle with kidney cancer. Hagedorn was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer in 2019. He underwent surgery to remove the affected kidney in December of 2020, but announced in July 2021 the cancer had returned.
Representative Hagedorn was first elected in 2018 and was re-elected in 2020. He passed away Thursday night at the age of 59.
