Snowmobile Mishap Injures Jackson, Mn. Man

(Jackson, Mn.)– A Jackson, Minnesota man was seriously injured in a snowmobiling accident Saturday.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says 45-year-old Patrick Barnett of Jackson was thrown from a snowmobile he was operating when he apparently struck a snowbank, throwing him off the machine. Barnett was then struck by another snowmobile operated by 36-year-old Ronald Anderson of Jackson, who was unable to avoid Barnett.

Barnett was taken to the Jackson Medical Center and was later transferred to a Sioux Falls hospital. His condition wasn’t available. No injuries were reported to Anderson.

No Damage was reported to either snowmobile.

Authorities say the mishap took palce shortly before 2:00 p.m. Saturday as Barnett and Anderson were riding snowmobiles through a field of corn stubble just east of County State Aid Highway 14 and south of Interstate 90.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Jackson Ambulance Service and the Jackson Police Department.
