(Spirit Lake)– A local hospital is once again receiving a special honor. Lakes Regional Healthcare has earned a five-star rating for both nurse and physician communication in recent data from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems.
Lakes Regional Healthcare is one of only 183 hospitals nationwide and one of only eight in Iowa to achieve the rating in both categories.
The survey is a standardized, national tool used by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicaid Services to measure patients’ experiences during a hospital stay. The latest rating is based on surveys of patients treated at LRH between July, 2024 and June, 2025.
