(Cylinder)– A two-vehicle crash this (Thursday) morning in Palo Alto county sent two people to the hospital.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says Patricia Keeble of West Bend was westbound on 390th Street when the vehicle she was driving went onto the shoulder. Authorities say she then lost control as the vehicle began to fishtail on the snow-covered road. It slid across the center line and collided nearly head-on with an eastbound vehicle driven by Allen Lewis of Cylinder.
The impact resulted in Lewis’ vehicle coming to rest on the south shoulder, with the one driven by Keeble coming to rest on the road, blocking both lanes of traffic.
Keeble and Lewis were both taken to the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg with what was described as non-life treatening injuries.
Both vehicles were totaled.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Whittemore ambulance and Whittemore Fire Department.
The mishap took place around 6:30 a.m.
