(Spirit Lake)– After a few days of very mild January weather, things will turn more winter-like as we wrap up the work week. The National Weather Service has placed a large part of the region under a winter storm watch Friday and Friday evening. Forecasters say the possibility exists for 5 to 8 inches of snowfall with heavier amounts possible in some localized areas.
In addition, they say the wind could become an issue later in the day Friday into Friday evening which could cause some blowing and drifting.
Those with travel plans Friday into Friday evening are being told to stay up to date with later forecasts.
