(Spirit Lake)– A local human services agency is changing its hours of operation and is converting to a four-day week.
Laurie Ruuf of the Spirit Lake Upper Des Moines Opportunity Office says the new hours will be from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Ruuf says the new hours were effective Monday (7/7). Ruuf says converting to a four-day work week is intended to help employees cope with high gas prices. She says most of them live in other counties and have to travel.
Ruuf adds the new hours may allow them to accomodate some people they haven’t been able to in the past.
