(Spirit Lake)– A traffic stop early this (Thursday) morning in Spirit Lake landed a man in jail on drunk driving and drug charges.
Spirit Lake police say an officer pulled over a gray Dodge Dakota in the 1000 block of Highway nine for a traffic violation shortly before 2:00 a.m.
During the stop police determined the driver, 34-year-old Steven Thomas Rogers of Spirit Lake and Louisville, Kentucky, was intoxicated.
A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up what’s alleged to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Rogers was arrested and booked into the Dickinson county jail on charges of operating while intoxicated…first offense; possession of a controlled substance…marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Spirit Lake Police Department was assisted by the Okoboji Police Department.
