(Spirit Lake)– Two juveniles face drug charges as the result of a weekend traffic stop in Spirit Lake.
Spirit Lake police say officers stopped a vehicle shortly after 3:30 p.m. Saturday. A subsequent search turned up a green leafy substance alleged to be marijuana.
The 16-year-old male driver was arrested and charged with prohibited acts, possession of marijuana and speeding.
A 17-year-old male passenger was also arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
The two juveniles, who’s names weren’t released, were transported to the Youth Emergency Services Center in Cherokee.
The Spirit Lake Police Department was assisted by the Okoboji Police Department and the Dickinson COunty Sheriff’s Office.
