(Spirit Lake)– Drug charges have been filed against two Wisconsin people as the result of a traffic stop earlier this week in Spirit Lake.
Spirit Lake police say officers pulled over a vehicle for speeding shortly after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 71 near 30th Street. A subsequent search of the vehicle by the department’s canine unit turned up a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana. The driver, 27-year-old Miracle Loyd of Madison, Wisconsin was charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana; possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver…marijuana; prohibited acts and possession of drug paraphernalia. Loyd was booked into the Dickinson county jail.
Upon further investigation, 28-year-old Erica Nance of Milwaukee, Wisconsin was arrested near the Country Club Motel in Okoboji. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana. She was also booked into the Dickinson county jail.
Spirit Lake police were assisted by the Okoboji Police Department.
