(Spirit Lake)—Motorists on 23rd Street between Highway 71 and Peoria Avenue in Spirit Lake can expect some delays as work gets underway on a sanitary sewer project in that area.
23rd Street will actually be closed to all traffic for a few days during the project while crews bore a new main under the road. That part of the project is expected to begin Thursday and continue through October 1st. During that time, northbound Highway 71 traffic desiring to use 23rd Street will be routed north to Highway Nine, east to Peoria Avenue, then south on Peoria Avenue to 23rd Street. Southbound Highway 71 traffic wanting to use 23rd Street will be rerouted south to 30th Street, north on Zenith Avenue, east on 28th Street, then north on Sunner Avenue to 23rd Street.
West bound traffic on 23rd Street will be rerouted north on Peoria Avenue, west on Highway Nine, then south on Highway 71.
North and southbound Highway 71 clinic patients will be routed east on 30th Street, then north on Zenith Avenue. You’ll be able to enter the parking lot from the east clinic entrance.
