SL Man Sustains Minor Injuries In Semi Mishap

November 22, 2014

(Sheldon)– A Spirit Lake man sustained minor injuries Monday when a semi tractor/trailer he was driving was blown off the road in Sioux county.

The Iowa State Patrol says 58-year-old Clifton Beck of Spirit Lake was northbound on Highway 60 around 5:00 p.m. when a strong gust of wind picked up the semi’s trailer, causing the rig to go into the ditch where it rolled onto its passenger side.

Beck was taken by ambulance to the Sheldon hospital where he was treated for what was described as non-incapacitating injuries.

Four thousand dollars in damage was estimated to the 2006 International semi he was driving.
